Young Singers of Orange County teaches children musicality and self esteem while inspiring them to engage in community service.

YSOC is a nonprofit community service based organization. It is for children grades k-10 who participate in a choir which performs concerts at schools, hospitals, elderly-care facilities and community events.

YSOC Goals
YSOC provides an experience in music which is both educational and fun. Singers will have the opportunity to learn, perform and give back to the community. Singers can also elect to audition for a performing group and work towards becoming a student choir director.

Our Mission
To inspire appreciation of the arts and a love of singing.
To increase children's team building skills, performance skills, and self-confidence.
To educate children about the importance of giving back to the community.

FAQ Common Questions:

Q: What if I've never sung before?
A: No experience is needed! We welcome new singers and are thrilled to help you learn and develop your vocal talents and abilities.

Q: How old do I have to be to join YSOC?

A: YSOC is for children from age 5 to middle-school - typically until about 14 years old, though we don't exclude anyone who is still in school - even high school. We have opportunities for high school students in the performing group and as apprentice choir directors.

Q: How much does it cost to join?
A: An annual $25 registration fee includes printed materials and your YSOC T-shirt. Need based scholarships are available. Our goal is to eventually provide a completely free service for all our members, but donations are gratefully accepted.

Q: Will I get to perform in public?
A: YSOC participates frequently in public and private performances, both as small groups and the whole choir.

Q: Who will be teaching me?
A: The lead instructor, founder and president of YSOC is Samantha Smith, a singer-songwriter from Orange County. Other instructors are young high school or college volunteers, trained by Samantha or other music professionals. Our focus is always to stay young, vibrant and relevant to our young singers.
