Accompanists...
• Have the responsibility of accompanying the choir and working with the Vocal Instructors to organize arrangements
• Must have experience playing either guitar (chords) or piano • Will be asked to participate during weekly rehearsals & intermittent performances. While you will be expected to make YSOC a top priority, we understand talented, serious musicians may sometimes have conflicting performance schedules and may not be able to attend every rehearsal & performance. |
Vocal Instructor...• Will work alongside the choir director and assist with instruction and direction of choir rehearsals and performances
• Should have some vocal (singing) experience. Knowledge of music theory & basic piano preferred but not required • Vocal Instructors are expected to participate during weekly rehearsals & intermittent performances. With experience, this position can translate into Choir Director |
Administration...• No vocal or musical experience required, but interest expected
• Will assist with performance & Master Class scheduling as well as email correspondence • Manage registration records and attendance roll Update mailing list and edit & email weekly newsletter (content provided by choir director) • Maintain t-shirt inventory and printing lyric sheets (ink, paper, printer) With experience, this position can translate into Choir Manager |
PR & Communication..• No vocal or musical experience required, but interest expected
• Taking photo & video of performances and rehearsals • Maintaining website, calendar, Facebook, & YouTube updates • Writing/distributing press releases (working and training with our PR professionals) & collaborate with the Board of Directors and volunteers to promote events With experience, this position can translate into Choir Manager |
